Soup Recipe

     Here is a quick and easy recipe I threw together that turned out pretty good. It became a keeper in our recipe  file.

Tomato Vegetable Soup

(Mmm, good)

1 28 oz. can tomato sauce

1 15 oz. can black beans

1 15 oz. can corn

1 15 oz. can sweet peas

1 15 oz. can okra & tomatoes (Marggaret Holmes)

1/2 cup chopped onion

1 tespoon chili powder

4 ozs. velveta cheese

Salt & pepper to taste

Mix all ingredients & bring to boil. Turn to simmar for 20 to 30 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Tastes better after sitting over night in fridge.
 
     Probably would be even better with some browned hamburger or sausage in it, if meat was desired.
     This should be very low in calories. I haven't figured them out , but most soups online run anywhere from 55 to 150 calories per 1 cup. I've just been counting mine 150 calories to be on the safe side & it hasn't caused my weight to go up.
